What is a Quantity surveyor and why do you need one?

A Quantity Surveyor is a vital member of your investment team.  Their role is to maximise the tax depreciation on your investment property by preparing a Property Tax Depreciation Schedule highlighting items of plant, equipment and capital costs that may be depreciated.  Your QS works in conjunction with your Accountant to ensure you receive the maximum return on your investment.  When choosing a QS make sure they are members of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors to ensure compliance with ATO legislation and protection in the incidence of tax audit.
